Sacajawea Hotel

Still Old School Montana Original

Three Forks railroad hotel built in 1910, still open year-round with rooms, bars, and Pompey's Grill.

Railroad hotel at the Missouri headwaters since 1910. White clapboard, front porch, and rooms that still book.

This place is still going.

John Q. Adams of the Milwaukee Railroad built the Sacajawea Hotel in 1910 as a rest stop for passengers and crews, according to the hotel’s history page. Bozeman architect Fred Willson designed the addition around the older Madison House, which was moved to the site. The hotel still stands at 5 North Main in Three Forks.

A 2010 refurbishment put modern rooms back into the historic shell. The hotel is a Historic Hotels of America member and stays open year-round with dining and bars on site.

It is a working small-town hotel, not a lobby museum. If you are nearby, stop in and keep them busy.
