- Why it's still old school
- Started as The Drive In in the 1950s. Pies baked by the family, soups by mom, and a menu that does not believe in small.

The Log Cabin sits right in front of the Teton County courthouse in Choteau. The Great Falls Tribune wrote in 2014 that it had been part of town since the 1950s, when it started as The Drive In. Manager Gabrielle Rasmussen said her uncle bought the building in 1995 and she came on after college.
The family grew its own vegetables in summer and made pies and soups from scratch. “My uncle David is the pie baker,” Rasmussen told the paper. “He’s the pie master.” Peanut butter cream and strawberry-rhubarb were the ones she named. “We don’t believe in anything small,” she said of the portions.
In February 2025 the Choteau Acantha listed the Log Cabin’s Valentine’s Day dinner. Call ahead for holidays. If you’re nearby, stop in and keep them busy.
